The Cruise - Film Noir version by Spidersaiyan The Cruise - Film Noir version by Spidersaiyan

Here's version two of the piece that should have just been uploaded, if I did the scheduling feature correctly. This one is meant to have more of a "Film Noir" feel to it, so I destaturated it and added some noise to try and mimic the look a bit! Anyways, I hope ya like it! :D

I know I always feel good when someone compliments me. Your picture has something that I've always admired, which is the ability to tell a story in one image. I'll bet you've had people tell you, "Hey, I know what this means!" That's got to be a good feeling.

I stumbled across your work because I have a friend who is currently writing a film noir version of a Futurama story; I may try to twist his arm to do a cover for it.

Wow! This is very beautiful. I have to say that I like it better in black and white as well; it gives it more of an "old age" feel to it.

Whether this image works in color or not, I like it either way. It must be a pain to do all the buildings and provide a busy scene to make this one effective. All and all, you did it and I am proud of your effort here. :)

Loving the expressions, especially on the two ladies and the one man on the right. They're really well done.

The composition is great, as well, your eye immediately goes to the "plot" of the image. Well done!

I really like this...and it's not my normal "style" of art.  However, this is masterfully done.  The shadows, the highlights, all of it - in bother the noir and color version.

Oooh I love both pieces, though this one almost seems like a photograph version of the other which would be more of the at moment scene. Great work overall and the character designs are wonderful. :)

Whoa; Honestly, I actually like this better than the original.
The original showcased your coloring talent, there is no doubt in my mind that you have that. You are very skilled in that, however, B&W really fits this piece. Not just the era, but the atmosphere of the time & situation.

I love how you drew the front-woman. Her hairstyle is perfect for her, and is complimented well by the turtleneck. Her eyes are beautiful, and you can see her emotions deep within them. It's almost as if you can hear her think.

Your backing characters were drawn perfectly. You make sure that the spotlight is on the young lady & the man watching her, you draw our attention, but not too much so; You emphasize them, but not so heavily that we look past the supporting characters; You allow the viewer room to breath & enjoy examining the entirety of the scene.
   Beautiful piece; AMAZING piece.

Thanks so much! That's very kind of you to say!

I also think the greyscale version looks stronger to me! At first it felt a bit unfortunate, since I spent way more time on the coloured version. But in the end I think it worked out for the best, because the B&W version probably suits the era a bit more anyways.

Thanks again, I'm flattered you like the piece!
